Friends of Petra Animals

What We Do

Every action we take brings hope to Petra’s animals in need.

What We Do

Raise global awareness about the true conditions of animals in Petra.

Secure funds to enhance the living conditions of
animals in and around Petra.

Educate local communities on the importance of caring for both owned and stray animals.

Ensure our organization runs with integrity, reliability, and transparency.

Making a Donation

They are frequently hidden from tourists and lack adequate care.

Stray cats and dogs in Petra often survive on scraps and face health risks.

Your donation provides essential aid and brings hope to these animals in need.

Despite local efforts, resources to support these
animals are limited.

Our Mission

Help stray animals in need by providing essential support, including nutritious food, medical care, and spaying/neutering services. We also offer safe shelters to protect them and ensure they grow up away from the streets. In addition, we engage in community outreach to raise awareness and educate people about the importance of responsible animal care, helping to create a supportive environment for these animals.

Our Activities

Feeding with proper food

Ensure proper food to prevent hunger and malnutrition in stray animals.

TNR and Medical Care

Conduct TNR, tagging, and vaccinations to improve health.

Building Shelters

Provide safe shelters for puppies and kittens to grow off the streets.

Raising Awareness

Educate locals on the need to care for both owned and stray animals.

Amman, Jordan, we've received heartbreaking news that some individuals are hunting down dogs and killing them. How could people be so cruel? There are no words to express our outrage and sorrow over such inhumane acts. It is utterly haram—forbidden—to harm any living beings in this way.

I just sent you a private message about 6 puppies my friend saw living in a cave. I sent you screenshots of her pictures to hopefully help you locate them. They definitely need help, they are just babies. 😢

As we continue feeding the homeless dogs each day, they are gradually becoming more comfortable around us. At first, they kept their distance, watching cautiously as we placed the food down. But over time, their wary glances have softened, it seems.

Though they still maintain some level of caution, their daily visits show that they are slowly learning to see us as a source of safety rather than a threat. We hope that with more patience and gentle care, there will come a moment when they fully open up.

For now, we continue to nourish them, not just with food, but with the reassurance that they are not alone. Each day brings a small step forward, and we remain hopeful.
